I am an environmental engineer and soon master in Global Change Biology at UMK, in Torun, Poland. I will be starting a PhD this fall. Even though language is not my primary career, I have always been interested in learning. Nie mówię już dobrze po polsku, ale uczę się. However, the instruction language would be English. I have volunteered as a Spanish tutor online and participated in English conversationals, having very good results with my students, helping them improve their confidence in the language. Normally I would work through a particular topic, and especially about my culture. For example, a particular festival in Colombia. This way, we can talk about folklore, dances, and even food and share our experiences. Sometimes, my students have a particular question, say, about a past tense, and they will ask me to prepare a lesson specifically on that topic, with examples and practical uses, and I am happy to comply. My students have no age or background limit, I work with children and adults, from any country, likewise. I have worked in other topics such as elementary courses, like maths, chemistry, biology with little children, helping them not only improve their knowledge but also their time management by providing them some studying techniques. I am not currently offering services in the last topics mentioned, but maybe, in the future.
